Our Sponsorships

GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY, WHEREVER IT IS NEEDED, IS AN IMPORTANT PART OF DOING BUSINESS AT BDO.

This philosophy is aligned with the values that we maintain as a firm and our desire to make a positive and enduring difference.

Our community involvements encompass both financial support and investment of our people's expertise and time. We are committed to making a real difference to the causes and sponsorships we support.

HOCKEY NEW ZEALAND

For many years BDO has had a strong relationship with the sport of hockey internationally, nationally and locally. This relationship continues today and we are proud to be an official supply partner of Hockey New Zealand. We work closely with the team at Hockey New Zealand and are proud to employ a Black Stick at BDO Auckland.

Many of our local BDO offices enjoy strong relationships with their local Hockey Associations, and have been known to man the BBQ’s at local events, help with logistics and even the clean up afterwards.

BDO TOUR OF NORTHLAND

At BDO we have many passionate cyclists. We thought it was only fitting that we commit to supporting the Tour of Northland – a cycle challenge over 4 days, traversing 360+ km of hills, and taking in the spectacular scenery of Northland.

You will see BDO partners from New Zealand and Australia, staff and clients taking on the challenge and of course BDO Kerikeri is always there for support with a BBQ at end of the leg.

AIR NEW ZEALAND WINE AWARDS - OTHER WHITE STYLES & ROSE

The Air New Zealand Wine Awards are the premier wine competition in New Zealand. Each year, our finest wines are discovered from more than 1,500 entries.

We’re proud to sponsor the Champion Other White Wines and Rose category, which was won in 2011 by Waimea Nelson Viognier 2010.

BDO has a long association with all aspects of the New Zealand wine industry; from those wanting to learn the craft, to those who have truly mastered it. With a strong understanding and passion for the industry, BDO is a trusted financial adviser to those who make it succeed.

AHUWHENUA EXCELLENCE IN MĀORI FARMING

The Ahuwhenua Trophy competition has a prestigious history dating back to 1932 when it was introduced by Sir Apirana Ngata and, the then Governor General, Lord Bledisloe, to encourage skill and proficiency in Māori farming.

With a strong Māori and farming focus at BDO, we appreciate the valuable contribution Māori farmers make to New Zealand.

Local BDO Community Days

Many BDO offices throughout New Zealand give their staff an additional day of paid leave to contribute to a local community cause which is important to them. This can vary to collecting for a local cause on the street, making meals at a hospital or cleaning up rubbish in the Hauraki Gulf. It is not the cause, but the individual’s intention that is valued and rewarded.

Local Sponsorships

At offices throughout New Zealand also sponsor local initiatives. Please visit our offices to view their sponsorships.
