Being an intern at BDO
When should I apply by?
Applications for Internships usually
open around early March and close at the beginning of April.
How do I apply and what do I need to qualify as an Intern?
You will need to apply online through our website and submit your cover letter, resume, photo and academic transcripts.
Once you have completed your online application you will receive an acknowledgement email and we'll be in touch as soon as we can. Please don't worry if you don't hear from us straight away as we receive hundreds of applications and we make sure we review all of them. We'll be in touch as soon as possible.
Those that are successful to interview stage will be contacted by phone or email and booked into an appropriate time and date. Interviews take up to 1 hour so please allow plenty of time.
We look for students who are in their 3rd year at University and you do need to be in line with the NZICA requirements.
Offers
We'll send out offer letters to successful applicants as quickly as we can as we know that you may have other offers to consider. If your application has been unsuccessful we will write to you to let you know.
What are the dates of employment?
The exact dates are to be confirmed however our Interns usually start in mid November and go through to mid February with approximately 4 weeks break over the Christmas period.
Why should I become an Intern?
Internships are a great way to find out what it is really like within BDO and to see if the service line you are going to work in is right for you. Internships can also be a really good way to secure a Graduate role for the following year - lots of our interns like working for us and want to come back (and we want them back too!).
