Christchurch
BDO Christchurch’s more recent history begins when Craig Stephenson & Partners merged in 1983 with Gain & Clark to become the Christchurch office of Kirk Barclay, which subsequently became Spicer & Oppenheim. Spicer & Oppenheim became BDO Spicers in 2000.
Over this time we have grown to a team of seven partners and over 50 staff. We offer a full range of services in audit, tax, business advisory and business recovery.
THE CANTERBURY EARTHQUAKES
“The courage to dream, the temerity to believe it’s possible, and the perservence to make it happen"
David Boyd – Director of Foot Science International, proud Cantabrian, and BDO client
Like so many Christchurch businesses we have been affected by the earthquakes. Our office for 23 years, BDO House in Victoria St, was severely damaged and has now been demolished. Many of our staff and clients suffered damage to their homes and businesses. We have a true understanding of the issues Canterbury businesses face and the real consequences of the quake.
We have been fortunate to secure a fantastic new office space at 30 Sir William Pickering Drive, Burnside. A near new, two level building with great facilities. We appreciate how lucky we were to get this premise so quickly after the quake, and for this reason we are willing to share our training and boardroom facilities with people who were not.
Throughout this time the BDO New Zealand and international network has rallied behind us, allowing us focus on rebuilding BDO Christchurch and supporting our clients as they also rebuild. We know the importance of expert support and advice for business, particularly now, and welcome the opportunity to talk about how we can support you.
