Beyond a Statement of Service Performance - Child Cancer Foundation’s social impact reporting success

Charities and Not-for-Profits add so much value to the communities and causes they support. However, measuring the impact of this work is not always straightforward, especially when it comes to non-financial information.

"At Child Cancer Foundation, it's been really important for us to measure our impact, and that's important for multiple reasons. It's important that we are actually getting the impact that we set out to achieve. It's also really important that we have an externally benchmarked appraisal of us for our funders and people that invest in us" - Monica Briggs, CEO, Child Cancer Foundation

For Child Cancer Foundation, the opportunity to showcase their social impact aligned with the completion of their Statement of Service Performance, a new reporting requirement for Tier 1 and Tier 2 organisations. This opportunity saw Child Cancer Foundation partner with BDO Auckland and wellbeing measurement organisation Huber Social to not only produce a compelling SSP, but to gain deeper insights on their impact across the lifecycle of the services and support they provide.

As a result of partnering with BDO Auckland, Child Cancer Foundation has been able to produce a high-quality document that’s useful for all stakeholders, not just to fulfil the requirements of the Statement of Service Performance. And by developing a fully integrated measurement system and taking a wellbeing approach to measuring impact, Huber Social has helped to show Child Cancer Foundation the proof of their impact and the clarity to maximise this into the future.

Now, Child Cancer Foundation is equipped with the tools and documentation to better showcase the impact of the incredible work they do.
